Our foster homes are the most important aspect of our rescue because they are the ones that spend countless hours rehabilitating and loving their foster dog, making him or her more adoptable.
How can I become a Foster parent?
If you are interested in being a foster home, we require that you fill out a foster questionnaire as well as allow us to do a home check. The home check is to ensure that we are placing our foster dogs in a safe and secure environment.
What is supplied?
All items are supplied to our foster homes including: Kennel Food Collar and leash Toys City of Calgary license
What Support is there?
A Pit Bulls for Life representative is always available for questions through email or by telephone. We also have a behaviourist that is dedicated to helping our foster dogs and their foster families with any behavioural concerns.
What is the Commitment?
We want your foster dog to be treated like part of the family. You can take them for car rides, visit family, go hiking, whatever your life style, we would love to see your foster dog be apart of it. This will help with socialization and enable your foster dog to be more adoptable. If your foster dog requires to see the vet for spaying, neutering, vaccinations or any other health concerns we would ask that you make the appointment to ensure that it is convenient for you. All costs are covered by the foundation. It is hard to determine how long any particular dog will be in your home, sometimes it is few weeks or a few months.
